The latest news from Everetts Pharmacy

Please note that our Locks Heath Branch will be open on Monday 1st May from 10:00 - 14:00.

All our other branches are closed on Monday 1st May 2017.

Local MP, Suella Fernandes, saw how the local pharmacy works to ease the pressure on GP services in Titchfield. During a visit to Everetts Pharmacy, on The Square in Titchfield, Ms Fernandes saw how pharmacies provide an essential service to the communities they serve.

Ms Fernandes visited the pharmacy and met pharmacist, Caroline Hillier, to discuss the growing number of services available from pharmacies, previously only available from a GP’s surgery. These services include: smoking cessation, obesity management, blood pressure checks, and a current campaign, marking Diabetes Week 2015, to help people better manage their diabetes.

Ms Fernandes commented: “I’m pleased these services are available from community pharmacy, Caroline and her team are working hard to provide care to Titchfield residents. Initiatives like this will help patients see their doctors more quickly, as a part of their overwhelming caseload is dealt with by other healthcare professions. ”

Congratulations to our Park Gate store who raised over £200 for Brain Tumour Research on Wear a Hat Day on 31st March.
Many thanks to A and T Coopers for their kind donation of a vegetable basket as a prize for the raffle.

Congratulations to Kelly Simm on winning  Sportswoman of the year for 2014 in the Portsmouth News Sports awards.  Kelly’s mum Heather works at Everetts Pharmacy.  She and Kelly just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone that voted for her.

After all the indulgence of Christmas, January is the perfect time to focus on your health and making those New Year’s Resolutions.  And our New Year, New You campaign could help you stick to them!

Our ladies from the Everetts Locks Heath branch are taking part in Race For Life once again this year, to raise money for Cancer Research UK.  You can find them dressed from head to toe in pink, armed with black sashes and ‘Race For Life’ t-shirts. They will be running along Southsea Common along the sea front, so it promises to have beautiful scenery.

Last year they raised £2170 for Cancer Research and they hope to SMASH that goal once again! Sue (Group Leader) Sasha, Susan, Christine, Kay, Jess, Sarah, Jacqueline, Leanne, Steph, Sue, Zowie, Nicky, Janet & Linda will be racing this year.

You don’t have to run to raise money to show your support, you can also cheer the girls on from the side lines and donate on the Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/Everetts-Chem-Babes.  We even have donation boxes located in our Locks Heath branch, so if you’re passing by and have some spare change, then come and find one of our Race For Life boxes and give generously in memory of those who find a reason to fight every single day.

Everetts Hedge End Store has had a Makeover!

Friday 28th October saw the completion of Everetts Hedge End store refit. And we marked the occasion with a fun filled open day. The store was officially opened by our eldest known customer; Gerald Foley, who is 100 years of age and has been a customer of the Hedge End store since he moved to the area 19 years ago. 4 generations of his family live locally and they all attended the event.

The event was well attended by the local community and as well as entering a prize draw, guests were treated to goodie bags, and the children had their faces painted.

The refit gives the store more space and a new and bigger consultation room. Pharmacy Manager Nicky Billingham said ‘The refit gives us a much better and larger space so we are able to offer the best possible service to our local community and it will hopefully help us to achieve our long term goal of becoming a Healthy Living Pharmacy in the future.’

Everett's Becomes the first Pharmacy in the UK to install i-viewer magnifiers in their stores

Being able to read the directions and contents on product labels is a concern shared by many of our customers; so we have installed the award-winning i-viewer magnifiers to help overcome these concerns.  With the need to check product information becoming more critical and printing becoming smaller, we want to help our customers make the right choices for themselves.

The shelf mounted magnifier is designed to help shoppers read product labels quickly and easily.  It is neatly placed underneath the shelving and is easily pulled out to enable customers to hold the product under it to read directions, contents, etc. both simply and quickly.  The i-viewer has a 2 times magnifier for those who have left their reading glasses at home or just need a boost to read the 'small print' and for the 'tiniest of print' which is normally impossible to read there is a 5 times bubble lens too.

Sue Ullmann, Sales & Marketing Manager at Everett's said: Customers like their independence and the i-viewer gives them the choice to read things for themselves or ask for our assistance, particularly if it’s for a sensitive issue.”

Stuart Kimber, co-founder of i-viewer said: "The need to read labels is an every-day reality for those with dietary and health needs and we are delighted that Everett's has chosen to install magnifiers in their stores, it is great news for their shoppers struggling to read the labels and is another example of Everett's excellent customer care ethic”.

We are very pleased to say that a team of 9 of our lovely ladies from our Locks Heath branch took part in Cancer Research UK's Race For Life in Southsea on Sunday 21st July and raised more than £1,260!

We would like to say a massive Congratulations to Christine Mandley, Sue Adams (Team Leader),  Sarah Horrocks, Jacqueline Woolnough, Sasha Adams, Susan Ashford, Kay Cutler , Jess Ive and Rita Briggs for completing the race in 1 hour & 13 minutes in the scorching heat!
